EUONYMUS JAPONICUS GREEN SPIRE
Euonymus japonicus ‘Green Spire’ is an evergreen selection with a narrow and columnar shape, belonging to the Celastraceae family. Characterized by slow and orderly growth, this cultivar stands out for its naturally erect and compact shape, which does not require continuous pruning to maintain the vertical structure.
The foliage is dense, with small, elliptical, leathery and shiny leaves, of an intense and uniform dark green color. Persistent throughout the year, it maintains a neat and clean appearance even in difficult climatic conditions. The flowering is discreet, with small greenish flowers in spring, of little ornamental value.
Particularly suitable for sunny or semi-shaded exposures, ‘Green Spire’ tolerates air pollution, salinity and winds well, making it ideal even in urban or coastal contexts. It prefers fresh but well-drained soils, showing good adaptability to different soil and climate conditions. It is rustic in temperate climate areas, with good resistance to cold once well established.
Thanks to its compact and slender structure, this cultivar is suitable for formal borders, narrow hedges, modern architectural spaces or as a vertical element in ornamental compositions. Also excellent in pots for terraces, entrances or low-maintenance gardens.
