MAGNOLIA GALLISONIENSIS

Plant code: MAG-GAL

Magnolia gallisonensis is a highly beautiful deciduous magnolia native to China, distinguished by its elegance and spectacular blooms. This medium-sized tree is particularly prized for its slender shape and relatively fast growth, making it ideal for large gardens or larger landscaped areas.
Flowering, which begins in late spring, is the true highlight of this variety. The large, cup-shaped flowers are pure, creamy white, with a slight pink hue at the base of the petals. They open before the leaves appear, creating a spectacular contrast with the bare branch and highlighting the delicate, refined beauty of the plant. The flowers’ scent is subtle yet enveloping, adding an olfactory dimension to the already exquisite blooms.
The large, glossy leaves are a vibrant, dark green, contributing to the plant’s majestic appearance during the growing season. In autumn, the leaves turn golden and yellow, continuing to offer aesthetic interest even outside of the flowering season.
Magnolia gallisonensis grows with an upright habit and a broad, well-balanced canopy, reaching heights of between 6 and 10 meters. The plant prefers acidic, cool, and well-drained soil, with sun or light shade. Although fairly resistant to low temperatures, it appreciates temperate, humid climates, and it is important to ensure good irrigation during periods of intense heat. Once established, it is relatively drought tolerant, but for optimal growth, rich, well-aerated soil is recommended.
