LIGUSTRUM TEXANUM
Ligustrum texanum is an evergreen ornamental plant, appreciated for its versatility and its compact and bushy appearance that makes it ideal for hedges, borders or as a potted plant. Of American origin, this variety of privet stands out for its shiny and intense green leaves, which give the plant an elegant appearance throughout the year. The shape of Ligustrum texanum is dense and branched, with erect branches that create a solid and compact crown. The flowering, although not particularly showy, is a detail that enriches the plant: the small white flowers, gathered in panicle inflorescences, bloom during the summer and attract numerous pollinators. Despite its modest flowering, the plant is appreciated above all for its ability to maintain a decorative appearance for a long time, both in public and private spaces. Resistance and rusticity are among the strong points of this variety: it tolerates heat, drought and poor soils well, but prefers exposure to full sun or partial shade and well-drained soils. Ligustrum texanum also lends itself very well to pruning, allowing the creation of precise and geometric shapes, for those who wish to use it in formal compositions or in decorative borders.
