FORSYTHIA X INTERMEDIA MIKADOR (R-ROYALTY)
Forsythia × intermedia ‘Mikador’ is a compact and modern variety, particularly
appreciated for its early and spectacular flowering. This cultivar stands out for its
tidy appearance and small size, characteristics that make it ideal for
large-scale production in pots or for use in landscape contexts where
simplified management of vegetation is required.
‘Mikador’ develops in the form of an erect but well-branched shrub, with a
naturally dense habit that does not require frequent pruning to maintain a
tidy appearance. It reaches an average height of between 60 and 80 centimeters, with a
proportionate width, making it also suitable for use in borders, urban flowerbeds or
as a contrasting element in commercial green projects.
The strong point of this variety is its spring flowering, which appears between late
winter and early spring. The flowers, of an intense and bright yellow, completely cover the still bare branches, creating a scenographic effect that immediately attracts attention in the points of sale. The earliness and resistance of the flowering, combined with the ease of cultivation. From an agronomic point of view, ‘Mikador’ is rustic, adapts well to different types of soil and tolerates the cold, pruning and sunny or partially shaded exposures without problems.
