EUONYMUS JAPONICUS BRAVO

Plant code: EUO-JBR

Euonymus japonicus ‘Bravo’ is an evergreen cultivar with an erect and compact habit, belonging to the Celastraceae family. It stands out for the high ornamental value of its variegated foliage, which gives brightness and contrast in both formal and informal contexts. The plant has moderate growth and a well-branched structure, with thick and orderly vegetation. The leaves, persistent and leathery, are elliptical in shape with finely toothed edges. The variegation is stable: the center of the lamina is intense green, bordered by a wide cream-light yellow margin that lightens further with exposure to the sun. This two-tone effect makes ‘Bravo’ particularly interesting as a contrasting plant or visual highlight in landscape compositions. The spring flowering is discreet and not very ornamental, with small greenish flowers. It adapts well to sunny or partially shaded exposures, tolerates urban pollution and salinity, and is resistant to wind. It requires well-drained soil, but adapts to a good variety of substrates. Rusticity is good, with resistance to short periods of frost, especially in sheltered conditions. It tolerates pruning well, which can be used for containment or shaping. ‘Bravo’ is suitable for creating decorative hedges, mixed borders, evergreen spots of colour and also for growing in pots, where it can be used to delimit spaces or enhance entrances and terraces with an orderly and brilliant presence all year round.
