Eucalyptus gunnii, an evergreen species of the Myrtaceae family native to
\nTasmania, is known for its vegetative vigor and remarkable environmental resistance. In the
\nbush form, the plant develops a branched structure from the base, with
\nan expanded and dense habit, suitable for informal uses or free hedges. This
\nmanagement allows it to maintain for a long time the characteristic young leaves, opposite,
\nrounded and of a bluish-gray color, particularly appreciated for the decorative
\neffect and the typical aroma of eucalyptus essential oils.
\nThe summer flowering consists of small whitish flowers, not very evident but rich in nectar,
\nappreciated by pollinators. The plant prefers sunny exposures and well-drained soils,
\neven if they are generally poor. It demonstrates good tolerance to drought once
\nestablished and resists minimum temperatures of about -10 \/ -12 \u00b0C. The bush training
\nenhances the natural rusticity of the species, which can be kept compact or
\nrejuvenated through regular pruning.
\nParticularly suitable for cultivation in the open ground, it is used in mixed borders,
